Ah 2020 – the most talked about year – whether good or bad. Whatever your experience was with this year, no one can deny that it taught us all a lot. Most of all about ourselves and our lives – whether you’re aware of it or not.

It’s the year that changed our whole existence and we will never go back to the old ‘normal’.

A new world is emerging and we are all being challenged to wake up to more – within ourselves and the world around us.

What 2020 has taught me

2020 has taught me a few key things that I’ll be utilising in my life, that will be my reminders when there are days that seem too much.

To Let Go

The only way to gain something is to make space for it to come in. So, to let go of something that are taking up space in your life.

This something can be a way of thinking, a habit, or something physical that are cluttering your life (think of how good you feel if you declutter).

It can even be a relationship that are not serving you, or a job not serving you. If 2020 has shown one thing it’s how resilient and creative us humans are in creating something totally new when faced with something else falling away.

We hold onto so many things that are continuously hurting us, and over time (I’ve personally experienced this) we become numb to the pain it’s causing us and to the way it clutters our lives.

Letting go isn’t always easy, and it can be uncertain, but ask yourself the question: “what’s the worst thing that can happen if I let go…?” Face that fear, look it squarely in the face and then make a choice.

Which brings me to the next one…

We Have Choice

We always have a choice between good or bad, between creating more hurt and chaos or creating balance and peace.

Every thought gets acted upon, so choose your thoughts, words and deeds, wisely. Everything has a consequence.

What is the consequences of your thoughts, words and deeds?

Is it helping anyone if we gossip, hate and talk down to others? What are you creating if you keep on blaming others or circumstances for what you experience in life?

What if we choose to change “I can’t” into “I can…”? Or “This is so hard” into “Maybe I was made for this…”? – Change the narrative of your life!

Choice is the most powerful tool we have. Everything boils down to choice. We exist in a field of infinite possibilities. Every choice we make shuts an infinite number of doors and open an infinite number of doors. At any point we can change the direction of our lives by a simple choice. It’s all in our hands, our hearts and our minds.

To really listen to your inner voice & inner guidance

We all have intuition, although we might need to hone the skill. But it’s a tool we all have.

What is it? It’s that inner knowing, inner feeling about a situation. Yes, it’s your psychic abilities even if you think psychic abilities are only for a few chosen ones or if you don’t believe in it…

Being psychic isn’t supernatural, it’s super natural.

Phil Good

The reason we don’t always hear that inner guidance is because our minds are cluttered by life around us – news, opinions, stories, social media, gossip, the list goes on… That’s why meditation is such an important skill to learn, so we can quiet our busy minds and really hear the guidance and inner wisdom for our lives.

By becoming quiet, we become clear.

What are the things that keep on coming up for you? It might be things you need to change, a step you need to take, something you have to let go of, a skill you have to learn or cultivate – and sometimes our inner wisdom doesn’t make sense to the logic mind, but you can be sure, if it keeps on coming up for you, listen, it might be just the change you need to make so everything else falls into place…

To Not Get Caught in the Drama

What’s happening in the world is one big drama, and the news are all about drama, and creating more and more of it.

Don’t get caught up in it… This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have compassion and care about what’s going on, or be aware of what’s going on, it means to not get sucked into it that you loose your joy and yourself.

If it makes you angry, hate, or totally fall to a very strong opinion, practice the pause… Pause and make a choice to look at it differently. Maybe you don’t have the full story, maybe you don’t know the real situation of someone else, maybe there’s an angle to it that you haven’t even thought about. Maybe what you see and experience is not the reality at all…

Maybe we can just practice love and compassion even if we differ. Maybe choose to not create more drama than all the drama already in the world.

Time heals

Time always heal. A beautiful life is ahead if you give it time.

It’s our negative ego that holds onto past hurts and regrets, that keeps on playing the same scenes over and over and letting it hurt us over and over.

So take time to cleanse, to heal, to renew, to grow and to become.

You change your life by changing within

Every time you work on your inner world; becoming better within, finding balance, being more peaceful, change the narrative of your inner voice, you change the reality around you.

We are never victims, everything in our life is a reflection of what’s going on inside.

So what is life reflecting back at you? Life is our teacher showing us exactly what we need to work on to create a better world – for ourselves and others.

To be grateful

There is always something to be grateful for.

Every night before bed, think of all the things you’re grateful for that happened that day. List them, writing things down is even better to solidify it.

There is magick in us and the world!

Do you know the real definition of magick? It’s turning nothing into something and that something into something else.

Or think of it this way. The phone or computer you’re reading this on wasn’t always there (nothing), then someone had a spark of idea (something) and phones and computers were created (turned the idea into something else).

Or take a recipe: At first there’s nothing, then you gather the ingredients (something) and turn it into a delicious meal (something else).

We ALL have magick abilities! We can all have nothing, listen to the spark of ideas and turn that into something else that can change our lives. I’ve personally seen this happening this whole year in so many people’s lives!

So why do I write magick with a K you might ask? Because it stands for key, and the best part of this is that WE as humans are the KEY to this magick that happens daily.

We are the ones here on earth to let all the magick happen. If we choose to.

What did you learn from 2020?
